Went to Watchmen last night. Still processing it, but I liked it. Will probably see it again in Imax this weekend.

In an amazing display of bigotry, Californians passed Proposition 8, denying gays the right to marry. I don't understand how people can elect the first black president, then turn around and take away such a thing. Someone pointed out that according to CA voters chickens have more rights than gay people now. While I love the chickens, that's just wrong. This isn't the end of the battle though, as the issue will likely pop up on future ballots. I hope that in that time people either open their minds or all the homophobes somehow die off.

I can't believe it's finally over. Months of stressing out and nail biting, of phone calling and door knocking, and it all ended last night in flawless victory. I'm amazed, not that I didn't expect Obama to win, but I'm still struck with a sense of wonder and awe and excitement. The hard part is over for us and it's just beginning for him. Now he gets to prove to the rest of America that he's going to make an excellent president, which he will of course. Overconfident? Me? Not at all, I simply have a great amount of faith in this man. And so do 52% of people in this country. I've never felt more proud or more patriotic than I did last night, sitting in front of the television and whooping with joy every time CNN made a projection. When I woke up this morning I had to convince myself that it wasn't just a dream, that it really happened. It did happen, and I'm so happy. The world is about to become a much better place.

WHY IS APARTMENT LIFE ONLY AVAILABLE AS A DVD? D: Okay, I know I'm living in the dark ages by not having a pc with a dvd drive, but still. Not. Fair. I was so looking forward to having actual apartments and witches that can actually do shit.
